Features of this release:
Here’s a summary of our most significant enhancements:
EDRM enhancements
We’ve made several important updates to strengthen how Seclore integrates with your business workflows. Let’s have a look at each of them:
- Microsoft Copilot for protected documents
You can now enable Microsoft Copilot for Seclore-protected documents! By default, the Copilot chat pane in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel stays disabled, but Global Security Admins can turn it on through component settings. A watermark will also appear on the chat pane to ensure data protection.
2. Enable Seclore protection without Microsoft labeling dependency in SharePoint
Files in SharePoint document libraries are now automatically protected with Seclore, even if they haven’t been labeled by Microsoft. Once a file is labeled, protection is applied immediately. But even if a file remains unlabeled, Seclore will still go ahead and protect it with no dependency on labeling required.
This update removes the wait for Microsoft labeling before protection kicks in, ensuring broader coverage without relying on external triggers.
Seclore digital asset classification (DAC) enhancements
Now that protection works smoothly with the above features, let’s talk about how classification just got easier. You now get better visibility into classification events, more control over downgrade prompts, and expanded support for email classification — making it easier to keep your data secure and well-managed. Here’s what’s happened in the last 6 months:
1. Enhanced SIEM integration
We’ve enhanced SIEM integration to include Seclore Digital Asset Classification (DAC) activity logs. Earlier, only EDRM activities were shared, but now both Cloud and On-Prem customers can send DAC logs too.
New Logstash pipelines make it easy to configure SIEM for EDRM, Audit, and DAC logs while supporting SYSLOG and JSON formats, with flexible output mechanisms like Output to File, SYSLOG Servers or via HTTP.
2. Disable justification prompts for classification downgrades.
To save time and reduce friction, Global Security Administrators can now disable justification prompts for classification downgrades for all users within a specific policy. Just check the new “Disable Justification” box under Publishing Policies > Policy Settings > Disable Justification, to switch it off for any policy.
This handy feature is available starting with Policy Server 3.17.7.0 and above.
3. Control the classification bar display for classified and unclassified files and emails.
Global Security Administrators can now turn off the classification bar for classified files and emails, or turn it on for unclassified emails, right from the Policy Server portal. Simple settings, total control.
4. Extended classification support to Mac, Outlook on the Web & New Outlook for Windows
We’ve supercharged Seclore Digital Asset Classification (DAC) with expanded support across Mac, Outlook on the Web (OOTW), and New Outlook for Windows with Exchange Online.
Here’s what’s new:
- Users can now send classified emails on Windows and Mac through New Outlook and Outlook on the Web with Exchange Online when Seclore Digital Asset Classification (DAC) labels are published for them.
- Classification now persists when replying or forwarding emails on Mac
- If you attach something more sensitive, the email’s classification automatically upgrades
- Downgrades? Users must justify the change
- Admins can block certain domains based on selected labels
- All activity can be tracked and reported from the Policy Server portal
More control, smarter classification — everywhere you need it!
5. Activity and audit log enhancements
Say hello to improved logs!
- For compliance reasons, a new auto-purge feature now lets you automatically delete activity and audit logs after a set duration. System Administrators can configure the retention period on the Policy Server portal (minimum: 6 months), beyond which logs will be purged automatically.
- Email Auto Protector rule names now show up alongside rule IDs in activity reports, making it easier to trace actions at a glance.
Less clutter, more clarity.

Discontinuing Support:
Seclore works tirelessly to support new platforms and maintain version compatibility with most devices and applications that are launched every year. However, unsupported software that is no longer patched carries a lot of security risks. For this reason, it is critical for Seclore to stop supporting discontinued platforms to ensure that Seclore-protected files are not vulnerable to known exploits in the underlying technology.
Discontinued Seclore Lite for Windows on 31st May 2021
With the release of Seclore 3.14 (1st June 2020) Seclore Lite for Windows was automatically upgraded to the new Seclore for Windows. Support for Seclore Lite was discontinued on 31st May 2021. If you are using an earlier version of Seclore than 3.14, please upgrade now.

What does Seclore end of support date really mean?
It means that Seclore product versions released before the end of support date may still work, but releases after that date may not.
For example, regarding Windows XP support:
- Assuming the following release dates:
- 1-May: Seclore Desktop Client 3.8 is released.
- 30-June: end of support for Windows XP
- 1-August: Seclore Desktop Client 3.9 is released.
- Now, on a Windows XP computer, it will still be possible to install
Desktop Client 3.8
- However, it will not be possible to install Desktop Client 3.9.
- Also, existing 3.8 installations on Windows XP will not get upgraded to
3.9.
What Seclore components are no longer supported?
The end-of-life date for a Software Version will be 12 months from the time it becomes Generally Available. This includes all Seclore agents that are installed on end-user devices and server-side components like the Policy Server, Enterprise Application connectors, APIs and SDKs.
All upgrades and patches are provided on the latest release versions only. For more information, see our Product Lifecycle Policy
